Reflections: Shakespeare Playshop

Last week, we had a great learning experience at the Shakespeare playshop. Reflecting on the activity, what were some of the highlights? Write a post describing your favorite part of the Shakespeare playshop. In doing so, also mention at least (1) thing you learned about the language/life and/or performance of Shakespeare's plays or Elizabethan times.

  8. I LOVVVEEEEEEEE it so much!!!! My favorite part was the part where we got to act out parts of the play. I liked when Lexi, May-Ann, Nicholas, Eric, and I got to act out a part in Macbeth. Lexi, May-Ann, and I got to be witches:)! I learned that it is very hard to be an actor/actress. It takes very hard work and determination to be in that career field.

  10. At first I thought that the playshop would be boring and dumb, but after we finished it I thought differently about it and learned that being an actor wasn't just a job to get money, but something that's fun and intresting.

  14. My favorite part of the Shakespeare playshop was all the drama and the acting. It was different too than any other field trip but it was still fun. My favorite was when we did the insults to eachother and we fought back and forth to see who won and we all know that my group won. It was different but still fun.

  15. I loved the Shakespeare playshop! It was really fun because we got to act as charaters from Macbeth! One thing that I learned was that there weren't a lot of props so they had to use their imagination. :)

  19. I really enjoyed the playshop. I thought it was a good way for everyone to be mroe exagerated and outgoing. I loved the scenes. They were very funny- especially when one group did "Party Rockers". The insults were odd...Since I didn't really understand them. But it was funny. The actions were hilarious.

  23. Hi!! Before the playshop, I was practically bouncing off the walls with excitment! I think that the Shakespeare Playshop was totally worth our time & money! I loved watching everyone have fun along with me. It was a great & amazing experience! I never really new much about Shakespeare's Play 'Macbeth'until I went to the playshop! The scenes we acting out, along with all the choreography was all amazing! I wish I could do this again next year! Thanks Mrs.Smith for planning this! :D

  24. My opinion of how the playshop went: Honestly, I'm not a big fan of acting. It felt kinda awkward, but I could tell everyone enjoyed it. If I had to pick my favorite part, it would be watching what everyone made up for their scences. I now know that if you want to go into Shakespeare acting or such, you should have a true passion for acting.

That was my first time acting, and I actually felt good about it!:) I had fun doing the warmups at the beginning when we had to competition against the McBeths! (McDeaths won! YAY!;D) I learned that Shakespeare's play, McBeth, is considered cursed to some people because a lot of bad things happen in plays performed by it. The bad thing that happened was that Emiy, when killed by us, fell and hit her head (she was okay though). I had a great time and I think I learned a lot about that.
