Now that you are almost at the end of the Creative Problem Solving Process, it is time to reflect. Consider the steps of the process and how they have helped you to come to a conclusion for the problem you identified. What skills were involved in the process? Which skills were most difficult? Which skills came easily for you? What did you learn, not just about the Titanic, but about thinking and evaluation, in general? How can this kind of thinking help you in other parts of your life?
when using CPS you can write paragraphs, do essays, and so much more. I ve learned that this works best with group projects because it can help you organise your thoughts and it can also help you pick a topic. CPS is a very usefull skill.

I agree to, great comment!
DeleteProblem solving in the Titanic mess paper research project was really difficult because of the different processes that we had to go through. I think that just being able to pretend that we are a "Global Problem Solving Think Tank organization was to pretend to do. Every so often you have to have fun!

There were many skills that my group and I used to solve the problem of the Titanic sinking. We brainstormed together, shared our ideas, and thought about how we could make each other's ideas better. We also have come to the conclusion that if there wre more safely regulations and guidelines, there wouldn't have been 1500 dead at the end of this disaster. 700 people saved is better than none, but I think that with better planning, there could have been more people saved.

ReplyDeleteIn the Creative Problem Solving Titanic activity, I learned a lot of new skills. To solve a problem like this, you need skills like asking a lot of questions and digging deep for facts. Piggybacking off of other's ideas to come to a conclusion is also a very useful skill. You can use these skills anywhere!
ReplyDelete--MGA
to be able to solve any kind of problem we use the creative problem solving. In life we will come across many problems in life wether it be big or samll, like if youu were in the kitchen and you need sugar to make a cake but you did not have any then you would need to find a wa to get some sugar. you might go to the store and get some or you could go to your neighboors. No matter how big or small the problem is you will be able to solve it.
ReplyDeleteWhen using the crative problem solving process you use skills like brainstorming, Fact finding, and asking questions.this is all a verry big help when it comes to CPS.
I used lots of what I already knew like facts to solve the problem. The hardest part was trying to think of the solutions. The easiest was probably looking for and remembering the facts. I can use this process when I am in an argument or am trying to solve a problem.
ReplyDelete:) :) :)
Creative problem solving is very important. The skills that we used where finding facts about the problem, then finding a solution to the problem. I learned that this process can help you find the solutions to problems. Creative problem solving can help in other parts of life whenever you are faced with a problem. This is why creative problem solving is important.
ReplyDeleteIn the Creative Problem Solving process, I believe that the following skills are used: thinking, creativity, brainstorming, and discussion. The hardest of the skills for me is the discussion. Since I usually listen just to myself, having other people's ideas can overwhelm me. I think that this process has helped me to know and do all of the skills above. The Creative Problem Solving Process will help me to become a skilled person in the workforce when I'm older, and to become a good group member when I work with other people. I'm glad I learned how to do this early, so it's guarenteed Mrs. Smith's 7th grade L.A students will be great!

DeleteI think the creative problem solving process really helped my group come up with a better idea. The easiest part for me was identifying problems. The hardest part was coming up with 15 solutions for a single problem. You really need to think about this process to understand it and to be able to work efficiently. It takes a long time, but is useful. This process can help you in other areas of your life as well.
ReplyDeleteWe used the skills of debating on each solution/ idea we made. We see both sides of teh idea, teh pro-side and the negative sides, we see if its worth it, if the bad-sides are larger than the good sides, if the bad side is a bigger price to pay for the exchange of a good thing from the solution. It helps us make descisions in a life and see whether its worth it or not. After we debated, we chose several solutions that seems good and made a chart and wrote in the chart whether it was time efficient or saved more lives, ect. We choose the ones that seemed better using the chart. We can use this to help make descisions in life.

It was fun to 'travel back in time' and help the Titanic save some lives. We had to go online and search for facts and clues to this great mystery. We then, in our groups, pinpointed what we thought a nice sized factor that contributed to this mess and found creative ways to help this scenrario. Altough it wasnt real, Im sure we could have done the impossible- save the Titanic!

i think the creative writing process is very helpful. it has helped me brainstorm, find good information and make connections. it has really helped with our titanic group project. i know this will help me be a better writer.
ReplyDelete-chase reese
There are many skills incorperated into the writing process. Interperating was inportant because someimes the answer wasn't right in front of you, but hinding behind a blanket of confusion needed to be taken off by understanding. Also, there is thinking. You have to use your brain to think of creative ways that a solution could be found. Finally, there is to regonize important facts, such as the expansion joint on the Titanic. Then you have to take it a step further and research the topic, like what an expansion joint is and how it works. In my opinion, I would have to say that interpreting and understanding are the hardest qualities there are because something could mean many different things. It would eb hard to understand just what a person is saying without getting the full context. These qualities are very important to the Creative Problem Solving Process.
ReplyDeleteI feel as though we used many different processes (skilled). The main one that was the easiest for me was getting a essay and having to read it to get facts and information about the Titanic. The one stage that I had trouble with was Critera, because I thought that it was going to be esay, because it is easy to do with a bookbag. But then we started it and it was very challenging, to me. What was yours? did you feel like you had the same problem? I learned many things, like that it striched over 2 huge waves. Also that the bottom needed to be lose in order to move from wave to wave. What did you learn? it can help, because we all have different problems. Also critera can help you in picking out many things.
ReplyDeleteThe Creative Problem Solving technique really helps you understand the problem and and solve it by reaching to a conclusion. As you start reaching the problem, the brainstorming is most difficult, but nescessary! I learn new skills to know how to research, and retrieve information which was unknown to me, until now! I learned a lot of extra knowledge! As you organized data, you came to a crucial conclusion. Actually, this process let's you learn a lot more than you need to, which is good! If there are any other real problems in life, I know how to brainstorm solutions! Improving a little bit at a time.

The creative problem solving process made me use more of my thinking skills to find why the titanic sunk and hown to make it better to save more lives than just the 700 people. This is a good way to solve problems like the titanic but other problems like 9/11. :D
ReplyDeletein the creative problem solving process it used a lot of skills. it used brainstorming, decision making, and more. it really helped make our groups' decision on our Titanic topic. also, to me i thought that the narrowing doen was the hardest part. the reason why is because my group came up with the best solution we could come with and it was really diffucult to eliminate the best one. also, to me the easiest part was coming up with solution to the problems that we came up with. anyway, ive learned that all great decisions could be desifered in this process. also u could use this in everyday life
ReplyDeleteI think creative problem solving is a good way to use your creativity (obviously), your logic skills, and also just working together as a team. i think that even if you have 3-4 great minds, the hardest part is coming up with a solution for just one specific topic. the easy part was being creative and making a descision about safety/ sturdiness. i think it is important to practice problem solving for the future, so that we can help others in creating a logical soloution for virtually any problemo! <3 -Sophia :)
ReplyDeleteIn the process of CPS I used many skills like researching and taking notes. Most of the skills were easy to use, but others were not as easy to use. Coming up with the problem and brainstorming ideas solve the problem were the hardest for me. KK
ReplyDeleteThe value of the Creative Problem Solving process is that it lets you evaluate all the possibilities of a particular problem. The skills that we use are critical; thinking, and analysis. In learning the Creative Problem Solving process, I also learnt a very important skill that just may be used later on in life: not every solution is perfect; every solution comes with a problem, whether big or small. It's just like earning a lot of money and buying a mansion. On the plus side, you have much to show off and gain respect from your felloow friends, but you're also more likely to be disliked by people who are not so fortunate, and be a target point for burglars and criminals when you are not at home. This kind of valued thinking will help me make important, potentially life-changing decisions in the future, and the present. I am positive that this Creative Problem Solving process will not go to waste.

The CPS process is a great way to get young students to stretch their brain and creativity. I liked this project very much. I have always been creative, but know I know how to train myself to use my creativity for problem solving! this is an important life skill that I will surely use in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe skill i was good at was the creativity part... You know the whole coming up with an actual answer. The skill that was harder for me was the whole research concept. I am never good at research! And so that was a challenge for me. But I hope to one day get better!
In this project we have been doing lately we have been learning about the Titanic. We have been using all of our problem sloving skills. I think the priblems ere the easiest to find. I have learned a lot about the Titanic and the creative problem solving. ~Emily
ReplyDeleteBalugadooble
using creativity to solve problems is a good way to learn. for example,in class we did the ttitanic mess classwork and we had to find ways to solve the big disaster( AKA the Titanic) . creative problem solving also helps you make compromises.
ReplyDeleteST
i learned that you have to break down each step to find the right answer. i learned that you hjave to think hard and outside the box, and putting your heads together to do it right. i found this project very fun, with my teamates and the topic that we are reaserching is very interesting because i LOVE the titanic.
ReplyDeleteI think it break downs things and make it way easier to make a decision! You can go from 15 to 10 to 5 ideas! You can use it to choose what idea to use for your altered book! You may have 10 ideas and then 5 and then 1 idea you like the best! It is really helpful because it evaluates every idea and eliminates the bad ones! I think we should use the Creative Problem Solving a lot more!!!

they helped me with the reseach part cause i usually do not reseach what im writing about i just plainly write. what i mean is i dont think about the facts or any of that so i really enjoyed learning what to do when your doing write so that what i learned ill get back to next time see u later bye
ReplyDeleteThis kind of thinking can be very helpful throughout your life. For me, it wasn't easy, but once your done and you look back at all your ideas that you have come up with, you will most likely impressed with what you came up with. We did the Titanic, personally I think the the problems were a bit easier to find, since the titanic had, unforuntintally, a lot of problems.
ReplyDeleteThe CPS process makes you think hard. You have to come up with complex solutions. I had to use my brain and thinking skills in a lot of this. I learned that in this process, there is a lot more thinking involved then you would think. This process can help you solve problems and/or mysteries in real life! Wesley S.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Titanic problem solving project was a very fun and great idea! It was cool to think we could have saved the titanic. I learned that you have to think of all the positive and negative effects of your solution. Even if it was a really good idea it could have a very bad effect or could cost to much. I also liked pretending you were acually on the Titanic. This was a really fun project!
ReplyDeleteI have learned a lot about the Titanic in this literaure piece. We have used our "Detective" Skills to discover ways we could've helped the Titanic if I we could go back in time. I hate how over 1,500 people died, yet I blame the captain, he barely care about the iceberg warnings.
ReplyDeleteThis week we have been learning a lot about creative problem solving. It has helped me a lot with trying to find context clues, researching, and a lot of other stuff. In fact it has helped me a lot with reaseaching. Also when Im trying to write an essay or a paper and anything else. You can definetly use these skills later in life when you get a job. It would be easy to be a detective and like find skills. CPS has helped me a lot.~Madeline Saylor~
ReplyDeleteI love how we have been learning all about the titanic!!!!!!!!!!! We have learned how to ask good questions and answer them with sincere thoughts. WE learned how to use reasources all on our own.

First of all, the the creative problem solving process is well.....just simply finding ways to solve problems or find out information on a topic..just like the titanic! They can be unusual ideas you have to solve problems! Secondly, some of the skills people use for problem solving is like asking yourself is it helpful, or effective, or too much money!! DeleteThe CPS is not as hard as you think, but there are steps to it. Some steps are researching, taking notes, brainstorming, and some decision making. I learned how to use these skills and also my resources to come up with a plan or a writing piece. This can help me later on because if your doing a research paper, i can use the skills to get all the information down and also put it in a creative way. I think the hardest one for me is decision making. The easiest one for me would be the taking notes. I have learned alot about the titanic and also about the CPS! * Kelli
ReplyDeleteThe Creative Problem solving process was easy , yet hard at the same time. You had to get alot of information and organize it , instead of just writing it.Some skills were actually looking for information and organizing the best , better , and THE BEST.I learned that in Creative Problem Solving , You have to really be creative and think more complex. This can be used in real life , in situations that their is no OBVIOUS answer you have to figure out how to be creative and ways to solve it!

We did a Titanic creative problem solving process these past few days with two partners. We took time to think about our ideas and came up with a few. Then, we all listened to each other as we found ideas for a few problems and solutions for the problems. We used critical thinking, and problem and solution to come up with some good ideas ideas on how to solve these problems in the Titanic. I learned a lot more about the Titanic than I thought I would. It helped me a lot because I chose the Titanic for my altered book and it gave me more of a background. Overall, I thought that this was a good project to do for the Titanic because it was very interesting, and made you think a lot.

In my opinion this process is very valuable. It helps you create exceptional solutions to most every problem you have in liffe. One thing I love about ut is that you can critique your own work, so that it is created exactly the way you desire. The skills we learned were to be imaginative, working around the problem you have, and sometimes being hard on yourself when you write. I also learnt not only about the Titanic, but about how to be the best problem solver you can be.

During this process we that to use our brains and team work even though we had to change groups we found a way and we on strong. And we succesfuly did every thing we were supost to do
ReplyDeleteThe Creative Writing Process is a very useful process. It is a good and helpful way to organize your ideas. We used skills like brainstorming about criteria, solutions, and creative ways to figure out the problem. It has given me a new kind of way to organize my writings.
ReplyDeleteThe value of the Creative Problem Solving process is that it gets your brain to think of creative ways to fix a problem. A skill we use to do this is your creativity skills. What I learned from this is that people may not have the same creative solutions as you. In the future, the creative problem solving process could be in good use. By using the CPR process, it could change everything.

The Creative Problem Solving process is to see your creativity. The skills that we used were taking a story and creating our own problem and solution to it. I learned the the Creative Problem Solving process helps you with your creativeness. It helped us narrow down the decisions that we wanted to make. We researched a lot of facts about the Titanic. -J.D.
ReplyDeletethe value of it is that it can help when you are in a tough situation and need to figure it out creatively. the skills we used were thinking and reserching. i learned alot about the titanic and how it went down. it was fun. :)

The Titanic assignment was very fun to do. The CPS hes helped me with researching. I learned that you have to break down everything to find the answer that you arwe looking for.
ReplyDeleteTHIS PROJECT THAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING HAS US DOING SOMETHING CALLED CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING. AND WE MUST USE THIS FOR THE GREAT STORY THE TITANIC. THIS PROCESS USES MANY SKILLS LIKE: BRAINSTORMING, DESISION MAKING AND MORE. THE HARDEST THING THAT I THINK WAS IS THAT BACK THEN THEY DIDNT HAVE THE SAME TECHNOLOGY THAT WE HAVE TODAY. SO THE THINGS THAT WE WOULD OF PUT IN TODAY OULDNT BE AVALIBLE BACK THEN. 100 YEARS AGO THIS DEADLY SHIP WRECK HAPPEND. NOW, YOU SHOULD TRY TO FIND A PROBLEM THAT YOU COULD FIX TO HELP THE SHIP STILL BE ALIVE TODAY!
ReplyDeleteThere are many questions that people ask when they read and even watch the movie about the Titanic. I learned that not everything from a book is true. Some books say that the Titanic never broke, and some say that they do. I believe that it did brake in half from the diagrams on the internet and about 90% of the books that I read still said that it did brake.
ReplyDeleteIn the CPS process, I learned a cool way to problem solve. I learned how to reaserch. The process could really hrlp solve a problem. The hardest part was making the plan; but the reaserch was easy. We learned how to use a mess. As well as a new way of problem solving, we also learned more about the Titanic
ReplyDelete-Katie G.
I learned that some ideas about the Titanic may not be true, but you never know. Some things I learned is that you had to use your creativity and think very clearly about your ideas, so they can actually be reasonable with the solution or result on what happened on the Titanic. If we had smarter ship builders back when the Titanic was made, we wouldn't have to find out how the ship crashed and if it was intentional.
ReplyDeleteCPS can help in later solving problems in life, and finding innovative solution sin the future. Cheese. ST. i ALSO LEARN
ReplyDeleteED THe theories in the Titanic, about what happened. I love Cheese.
CPS could actually be useful in real life situations. It forces you to go slowly through the process to find the best solution instead of the most obvious ones. Working in a group also helps because it is not just your ideas, your group might have some more that you didn't think of in the first place.
ReplyDeletethe titanic project was very cool. we got to figure out ways that could of kept the titanic from sinking or to keep more people alive. so it was very fun to get to brainstorm some ideas about how the titanic could still be here today.
ReplyDeleteThe easiest part that came to me was the problem-solving. I like anaylis and find more information so i can get the best solution. I alsp learned that you will not agree with everything your group ssays and crazy ideas might turn out to be the answer. Thuis kind of thinking helps you in life because it makes you use your brain more. You'll start to consider all your options before you choose your answer. Writing this paragraph made me think! :)

Creative problem solving has helped me consider using creative ideas to solve many problems. Creative ideas can really help in many situations. Many would consider to think inside the box, but you might take an unusual route of thinking outside the box. Unusual problems need creative solutions. C.G.N.
ReplyDeletewe have been working on a project that included us having to problem solve. this project has had me use many skills like brainstorm, and also decision making. It could help me in life like when im older i could get a job. or like the titanice we could be on a ship and be having a problem. problem solving would come it great hand at that moment in time. So in this project we have to think of a way that we could have kept the ship from sinking. I have my thoughts in my head now get thoughts in yours. SC im awesome :p
ReplyDeletethe value is to teach you how to solve very important problems in life.we solved the problem of the titanic. we used quick thinking and jotted down ideas, problems, and questions down. i learned that research and books cna really help you solve serious problems like the titanic. this kind of thinking can hel[p me in all of my academic and connection classes and also at home. :) ;) madi thomas <3
ReplyDeletei really enjoyed the Achellis heel movie about the titianic. i just thought that it was the manovering and work of the ship. the hardest part of the problem solving process is the criteria because it was the hardest to write. i do sometimes wonder what it wiould be like if we didnt have that disaster happen at all.
ReplyDeleteCreative problem solving is combining your creativity and brain power to solve intereting yet hard problems. I really like creative problem solving. I think it is fun to come up with a lot of questions and solutions to the mess. The topic Titanic was relly cool. I have learned that the Titanic is a incredible structure with one single weak point.
ReplyDeletecreative problem solving is important because you will have problems in the future you will have to fix. i learned better ways to work with others and i also learned how to research better. this will help me later on in the future because i can work on things i have not done befor. this broject will defenatelly help me in the future.

the project we finished was about proble solving and we used the titanic. some of the processes we used were brainstorming, problem solving, solution sloving and more. the hardest thing was working in a group because it was fun but so many different ideas were going around. the eisest was solutions because we had all the information so it made it eiser. overall this was a fun project and you can use this in projects and other things.

Creative Problem Solving is finding unique ways to solve problems. The skills that we used were evaluating the problem and finding small important details. I learned that there are many ways to solve problems, more then one solution. This kind of thinking can help me in real life tough problems.
ReplyDeleteUsing the problem solving process will help us in the future, with more advanced problems that need to be solved. When we are adults we will need to make hard decicions, whether its paying bills or finding a new job.Having this solving probem process in our lives will mean it will be easier to make hard decisions and we will be more careful to make the right decision.
ReplyDeleteCPS is something that is something that makes your brain work. you might think its easy... you might think that its hard. Because some things are true, so you might not want to just jump into conclusions, do a little research. FOr example we are reading the titanic.....some books say that it broke in half some books say it went down as a whole... so the more resources the better!
ReplyDeletewe worked in a team and debated about some topics which will help me in life. i also learned that one of the fourth stack was for decoration along with many other things one the titanic.
ReplyDeleteCreative problem solving was a good methed for solving problems. It helps you slowly understand the problem with a team of other people. I learned about problems with the ships design. We learned also about the capton and and the first, second , and third class passengers.
ReplyDeleteProblem solving is important. You may use it in everyday life and just no know it. Like what if your best friend was falling out of the sky. Would you TRY to catch him or let him face slid home. I don't know what i would do that is why problem solving comes in handy. It's not rocket science...........unless....well.....you were problem solving about rocket science then it would be rocket science which is hard not to get you confused but it's not rocket science so just quite talking about rockets okay. By going through all of the steps in CPS it helped me to stay organized and be able to finish my work in time. You can use CPS while doing any research projects and it helps you immensly. It was kind of difficult to come up with something to write in the end paragraph.
ReplyDeleteI learned alot in the CPS (creative problem solving)process, but not just about the Titanic. I also practiced working successfully in a group, which is harder than it sounds. It is important to not get off task, but if you don't take some time to emphasise with your group members, then arguments break out, and less creativity goes into your work.
ReplyDeleteAlso, CPS helped me practice comphremising. I think all of my group members worked to find solutions between conflicting views and to passively present ideas.
The creative problem solving process helps us find a solution to the problem we need help with by going from step to step. It really makes you think about what the problem is and helps you find a better solution than before. It makes writing easier for alot of things. ••••••♥♥♥♥♥••••••

I think that this involves many steps in order to find the most reasonable/ important solution to your problem, and you have to use the resources given to you. This is very long and sometimes a bit boring, but it is overall a cool tachnique that you would use to find a solution to a problem. This technique also can improve your thinking/ problem solving skills and can be very fun. ReplyDeleteThe value of the Creative Problem Solving process is to learn vauable lessons to help us solve real life problems. One thing Rehan learned is that ideas create a chain reaction and the chain eventually leads to a good solution. Sharon learned that one problem can be solved with many solutions. Steven learned that no matter how bad a situation gets, it can always be solved. For my team, the easiest part were the solutions and the ardest part was coming up with the criterions.
